    • WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY WEDDING CAKE ?

      Our Pastry Chef will create your personal tiered Buttercream Wedding Cake with a choice of assorted cake flavors, fillings and frosting.

    • IF WE ARE HOSTING OUR CEREMONY ON-SITE , WHAT TIME CAN WE ARRIVE ?

      Early arrival time is limited to you, your bridal party and parents up to 1 hour for daytime weddings, and up to 45 minutes prior to for evening weddings. Please note that at this time, food and beverage is not available prior to your reception. These times are subject to change based on the event schedule.

    • IS A CEREMONY REHEARSAL POSSIBLE ?

      Yes, included in your on-site ceremony fee, a 30-minute rehearsal is available for you and the bridal party, to be coordinated with your assigned Banquet Manager.

    • WHAT DOES THE AMBER ROOM OFFER TO PERSONALIZE MY WEDDING ?

      The Amber Room Colonnade prides ourselves on not “fitting things into a box” to design and execute weddings that are unique in their own way. We enjoy learning about each bridal couple’s personalities, hobbies and interests, family traditions, and at their request incorporate these considerations to make it a truly personalized reception of their own. Utilizing the combined professional experience of our event team, we are able to customize important items such as menu selections, wedding décor, entertainment, and up lighting of a laser-cut stencil of the bridal couple’s name & date providing for a personalized and dramatic entrance. In addition, the Amber Room provides an idyllic setting offering 26 meticulously-landscaped acres, featuring expansive lawn with annuals and perennials, European fountains, courtyards and bridges. This provides for a serene ambience and a beautiful setting for photographs.

    • Douglas Polistena

      General Manager
      A graduate of Marist College, Douglas utilized his degrees in Marketing and Financial Management and applied them to his hospitality career since 1997. He began his career on the restaurant side and then merged into full-service catering and banquet operations. He is well versed in different cultures and spent a six month period traveling Europe specifically embracing Italian culture & cuisine. While in Italy, he worked for a marketing firm promoting tourism and planned events that helped acclimate international tourists to the European lifestyle. Since joining The Amber Room in 2008, Douglas has personally worked with and executed over 1500 events, to include major galas, weddings, mitzvahs and corporate functions. In 2009, he became a client of the Amber Room Colonnade and married his beautiful bride Stephanie with a reception of 350 friends and family. In 2013 Douglas was promoted from Director of Sales and Operations to General Manager. Douglas' main position at the Amber Room as General Manager is to over see all operations , with primary responsibility of event planning, as well as company finance management.

    • Chris Hatzis

      Executive Chef

      Executive Chef Chris Hatzis graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Kinesiology. His career began at the early age of 13, continuously working in the restaurant industry where he soon realized his passion for the Culinary Arts. Upon graduating from UNH, Chris continued his strong desire toward food & beverage, realizing his future was to pursue a career in a professional kitchen. He attended the Culinary Institute of America, including post graduate coursework, where he studied diverse topics including Hors D' Oeuvre Production, Artisan Bread Baking, Soup, Stock and Sauce Creation & Production, Mediterranean Cuisine, Garde Manager, Cake, Tart and Torte Production, and numerous culinary expertise. Chef Hatzis joined The Amber Room Colonnade in January 1999 as a Line Cook, earning his promotion to Kitchen Manager/Director of Hors d' Oeuvres, and Pastry Chef, to Sous Chef and eventual promotion to Executive Chef in 2008. Chris and his loyal and talented culinary team take great pride in their commitment to food excellence, creating everything by hand, utilizing only the freshest, highest quality ingredients from reputable food purveyors, and personal homemade recipes. This commitment to excellence has established The Amber Room as one of New England's most prestigious catering venues, having hosted President Clinton twice, and the recipient of numerous culinary awards and accolades.

      Chris' favorite time of the workweek: Saturday mornings when his daughter Mia is working by his side.



       

    • Alisha Turchick

      Catering Sales Manager
      Alisha comes to us with a restaurant and country club background. She has spent the majority of her 20 year career in the New York market and brings with her, experience and an in depth knowledge of customizing events to go beyond every client's dreams and expectations. Along with a hospitality background, Alicia also has a degree in interior decorating, which allows her to have a keen eye for detail. Since, joining the Amber Room team, as our Catering Sales Manager, Alicia has put her personal touch on the Amber Room's décor and menus and has help create the culture that sets the Amber Room Colonnade apart from the stereotypical banquet hall. We encourage you to call and schedule a tour to meet with Alicia so that she can give you the attention to detail that you deserve.
    • Gina Iarusso

      Banquet Manager

      Gina comes to us with a rich background in hospitality that spans over 15 years. She joined the Amber Room Colonnade in 2008 and progressed to her current position as Banquet Manager in 2013. Gina graduated from Grace Institute with a degree in Business Management with an emphasis in hospitality. She manages the wait staff while ensuring that every aspect of your event is carried out with precision. Gina is a dedicated wife of 21 years and mother of three beautiful children. She is a huge asset to our team and continues to develop fresh approaches to enhance your special occasion.

    • Monica Banas

      Pastry Chef

      A graduate of Syracuse University, Monica pursued her passion for confectionary creation by graduating from the Institute of Culinary Education's professional pastry program. Following her internship at Gramercy Tavern under the culinary excellence of Chef Nancy Olsen, she returned to Danbury, CT as cake designer for Cake Haven, while teaching children's baking and cooking classes at The Young Chef's Academy in nearby Brookfield. In September 2008, Monica joined the Amber Room Colonnade Culinary Team as Pastry Chef, where she specializes in custom wedding and special occasion cakes, along with her homemade pastries, desserts, and ever-popular cheesecake lollipops!

    • My husband and I were married recently at the Amber Room (4/12) and cannot say enough rave reviews about our experience there. After visiting several different sites, we were immediately impressed with the Amber Room on so many levels. As we worked with the Amber Room to plan our wedding, we were happier and happier with our choice.

      First of all were the gorgeous facilities. With a huge dance floor in a very large, beautifully appointed banquet hall, it was the perfect space for our reception. The outdoor gardens, and cocktail hour patio, were the perfect location for an outdoor ceremony. We were even lucky enough at the start of April that the flowers on the grounds had started blooming.

      Second of all was the food, which we tried at a wedding expo held at the Amber Room. To say the food was delicious is an understatement. With everything made fresh and on-site, the food was AMAZING. The passed and stationary hor d'oeuvres were so wonderful that people were stuffed after the cocktail hour. They couldn't stop eating. Our station style dinner was fabulous, and people kept going back for seconds and thirds. I think the most telling comment from our guests was that the food was completely different from what they think of as "wedding food". The chefs and dessert chefs were terrific.

      But most importantly of all were the people. Our first contact was with Doug, the operations manager. His calm manner and flexibility were immediate selling points for us. In our first meeting he said "We want to create the wedding that YOU want to have", and they followed through on that in every way. Through multiple meetings we designed the wedding of our dreams, at a price we could afford. Even last minute ideas and changes were worked in flawlessly, and Doug was so amazing to work with. Dimitri, our banquet manager running everything on the day our wedding was a miracle worker, doing everything from managing the timing of the whole day, to jumping in behind the bar to make sure people weren't waiting in line, to checking to make sure we had drinks and food. The entire service staff were incredibly attentive, including Suzanne, our personal wedding party attendant, who always made sure we had anything we needed.

      We loved EVERYTHING about our wedding, and the Amber Room, and we wouldn't have changed a thing. In short, it is the look and feel of the Amber Room that will pull you in, but it is the amazing people you work with there that will make you hope for another event so that you can go back again!

Once the time came for Kristina to put on her gown, she had plenty of help from her friends and family who made sure everything was just right.

      The ceremony was originally supposed to take place outside on the grounds but a crazily strong wind storm meant a change of plans. It still took place outside, but with the protection of an awning, which meant nothing was blowing around and everyone could actually hear the exchange of vows instead of the howling of the wind. Right after the ceremony we took a few minutes with just Kristina and Lou, giving them the opportunity to take in the fact that they were now officially husband and wife.

      They kicked off the reception with their first dance to a song by Kristina's favorite band, Dave Matthews. It was a particularly sweet moment with their friends and family gathered around the floor, holding one another and cheering Kristina and Lou on. After dinner the party really got into full gear - the dance floor opened and the photo booth was hopping. They had so many props for the booth that many times during the night you couldn't really tell which was which, boas on the dance floor, dance moves in the photo booth. It was definitely one fun party - exactly what Kristina and Lou had hoped it would be.

    • The Amber Room staff was very flexible for a Friday night, winter wedding. I was able to rent the larger room and they were very accommodating on the pricing. The event in the second room canceled due to weather; therefore I obtained the extra staff's attention throughout the night at no additional cost. The night went off without a hitch and as the bride, I had one staff member who attended to my every food/ drink and any other need that I had.

Dimitri, our banquet manager running everything on the day our wedding was a miracle worker, doing everything from managing the timing of the whole day, to jumping in behind the bar to make sure people weren't waiting in line, to checking to make sure we had drinks and food. The entire service staff were incredibly attentive, including Suzanne, our personal wedding party attendant, who always made sure we had anything we needed.

      We loved EVERYTHING about our wedding, and the Amber Room, and we wouldn't have changed a thing. In short, it is the look and feel of the Amber Room that will pull you in, but it is the amazing people you work with there that will make you hope for another event so that you can go back again!
